NEWCRUISE - Yacht Projects & Design is one of the most internationally recognised German brands for super yacht design and projects.
We develop and deliver designs and concepts for large custom yachts, motor and sailing, that set new standards. Each of our designs reflects the owner’s individuality - which is probably why we have meanwhile won several super yacht design awards, where the jury of experienced owners, yards and yacht- journalists often honours exactly this approach.
Our success is based on our innovation, an intimate knowledge of naval architecture, technical design as well as of yacht interiors and a professional approach to every detail. Together with our design and project team we will flesh out and finalise all plans through to the finest details. This is a safe guarantee for a truly professional attendance and realisation of each project.
This enables the owners working with us to feel entirely at ease and to create their yachts, embracing their personal project teams and our specialised services, with complete peace of mind. With this “plus” of design services we translate the input of the client into a unique concept of his yacht.
Inspiring and creative design consultancy meetings with the NEWCRUISE partner troika of Frank E. H. Neubelt, Roland Krueger and Katharina Raczek - who also manage all marketing with acquisition together - are the beginning of a professional project and planning process, which then continues as a constant dialogue and a very close and open co-operation between the owner and / or his representatives and us.
The process starts with first proposals of exterior styling, ideas of the basic general layout plan and with initial sketches of details designed by Frank E. H. Neubelt, who is responsible for the “Principal Project Design”. As the creative process unfolds these preliminary concepts will be discussed and analysed by all three partners, and the final yacht concept and exterior and interior design themes agreed upon before being further deeper developed and presented.
This process is of vital importance to achieve the best result of well-balanced exterior and interior solutions with regards to style and layout in all areas of the yacht and underlines the successful NEWCRUISE corporate philosophy.
Roland Krueger is responsible for the “Principal Project Development” and monitors all design and planning stages. He will be on site during the actual build to check on technical construction solutions. He not only runs the economics of the company but will develop the best solutions for technical equipment in a close dialogue with the yard, suppliers and sub-contractors.
Katharina Raczek is responsible for the “Principal Interior Design”, developing the interior architecture and decorative styling of the yacht with individual creations of room concepts, furniture, upholstery and a light design that is in harmony with the architecture, styling and decoration.
The special talents and ideas of all three complement each other in an ideal way, which is especially evident in design-meetings with the owners, who will get the best possible result from these creative sessions as well as enjoying the design experience.
The complexity of a large yacht requires this unique service: Design is more than just a nice drawing or a colourful virtual computer animation.
Creating a large yacht can be a fantastic experience but only if all aspects of the design actually work together and fall into place seamlessly like a puzzle, not only in planning but also in practice and during the build. A luxury yacht is one of the most complex creations one can think of. Nobody can help the yard more in practically transforming our creativity and long-standing technical knowledge of yacht design and naval and interior architecture into reality than us, the designers!
Our services do not end with supplying the complete design and specifications. We will also manage and monitor the implementation of the styling and all the details, from the very first sketch to the keel-laying and finally the launching day.
The NEWCRUISE-factor comprises an active and independent design-management. It supports and enhances the task of the owner’s project manager and team and ensures a smooth cooperation of all members of the project during the design and the build process. We and our specially selected team are your guarantee for a trouble-free and highly enjoyable process of creating your individually tailored yacht.
With the eyes of the designers, we will make sure that your yacht will be built in exactly the way in which we designed it - in your individual style but also undeniably recognisable as another unique NEWCRUISE-Yacht.
Born 1961 in Hannover Germany, he has been sailing since childhood on his uncle’s ocean-going 43 ft. Cruiser-Racer, a 1969 “Huisman”, which today he owns with a friend. Parallel to this, he was also active in sailing IOR/IMS regattas. In 1980, Frank made an apprenticeship as shipbuilder with a special emphasis on boat- building, which was the practical foundation for his studies of Naval Architecture. During his studies he took several side-jobs at technical design offices and yards. All these practical’s led to his involvement in yacht design and work as design assistant at yacht builders such like X-yachts and, later, for several well-known German yacht designers. Rhapsody Yachts in Sweden commissioned him and his very first sailing yacht was a 40-ft fast cruiser which was presented at the 1989 Düsseldorf Boat Show. This sparked off the founding of his own design-studio in 1990, NEWCRUISE - yacht design with the focus on full design services in all aspects including naval architecture and interior of custom sailing yachts.
Some years later, Frank received further inquiries for motor yachts and the studio enters successfully into this side of the business as well. 1997 he delivers the very first super yacht over 100 ft. “Xanadu II” and the very first sailing yacht over 80 ft. “Opium”. 1998 he met Roland Krueger, who asked for an apprenticeship. Both worked together on the naval architecture of the “White Heaven III”.
The new millennium then saw the birth of NEWCRUISE - yacht projects & design in partnership as a design-team with Roland Krueger.
Frank is managing senior partner, and being responsible for the “Principal Design“ focussing on the general design and the yachts layout concepts, and takes care as well about acquisition and marketing together with his partners. He is a member of the group of founders of the German-Yachting- Industry- Pool, DEUTSCHE YACHTEN, and a member of the board.
Roland, born 1966 in Munich, grew up in Baden-Baden and has been an avid dinghy sailor since childhood – a passion he still enjoys to this day. He has raced and sailed a wide variety of inshore boats, including the Olympic Flying Dutchman or the exciting Libera-Class racers. He was also educated in banking management, before taking up studies of ship building and naval architecture at Hamburg University in 1990.
He then spent fascinating years in the United States, gaining valuable work experience with “Concordia Custom Yachts” in Massachusetts, where he was involved in projects such as the 108 foot Wally Yacht “Wallygator” 49 ft, carbon fibre racer “Blue Yankee” and the America’s Cup yacht “America 3” by the all women team of Bill Koch. In 1998 he finished his studies with a diploma in naval architecture for the design of a 120-foot expedition yacht and joined NEWCRUISE for more work experience. In 1998 he was involved together with Frank in the design of the 125-foot motor yacht “White Heaven III” at NEWCRUISE, and the fruitful cooperation and relationship with led to the founding of NEWCRUISE - yacht projects & design as a full service design and project company in partnership two years later.
Roland is managing senior partner with his focus on “Principal Project Development”, on- site project build design supervision, company economics and runs the sales and marketing together with his partners. He is also one of the co- founders of the German Yachting Industry Pool, DEUTSCHE YACHTEN.
Born 1977 in Hamburg, Germany. After school Katharina's focus was to establish herself in the world of interior design. She embarked on her career with varied and interesting work experiences, firstly in Oldenburg, at “Designers House” and then with the architect Katharina Berges. After this, she was invited to work at the renowned “Staats-Opera” in Munich where she stayed for seven months in the department for stage design. During this time she was part of the team that put “Il Nozze di Figaro” onto the stage, working under the famous stage designer Jürgen Rose. Finally, she gained six months work experience as a carpenter to better understand the practical nature of making interior design a reality, before taking up studies in interior architecture in Mainz, Germany.
During her studies she joined the French architecture studio BUFFI for 6 fascinating months of work experience as a trainee.
In 2002 she joined the NEWCRUISEteam and got the chance to be involved with the 26 metre custom motor yacht „True Austrian“ of Bugari Yachts. At this time she also completed her final graduation thesis on a wellness and spa interior of a sophisticated 55 Meter 3 mast sailing schooner of the studio, which led to a permanent position of employment at NEWCRUISE.
2003 brought her first lead involvement in a NEWCRUISEproject with the interior design of the 67 metre motor yacht “Triple Seven” alongside Neubelt and Krueger and later the successful 74 metre “Siren”. In 2008, she was invited by Frank and Roland to become junior partner at NEWCRUISE, with the focus on “Principal Interior Design”, and works together with her partners as well on the marketing and sales.
Our team includes Naval Architects and Architects, Product Designers, Illustrators, Boat Builders, Interior Architects and Decorators. Very valuable for each project are our Lighting Designers.
Several members of our team also have practical experience as former yacht crew.
Our well educated and permanently in- house trained team forms a cross-section of the entire super yacht industry of design and naval architecture. A well organized in-house time management and economical department guarantees a professionally handled and well-controlled project.
Yacht design and project planning means being captivated by the idea of the extraordinary.
By the fascination of technology and elegance that can only be expressed in a yacht whose element is the fine line that marks the border between air and water.
Passion and idealism are required by both the naval architects and designers on one hand, as well as by the owner and his team on the other hand. This is the leading line achieving the best.
Utilize our profession and experience through our special “NEWCRUISE-factor” which is your all around project and design service:
